DESCRIPTION

The workshop was developed at IED of Torino inside the master of sustainable architecture in which ARCò is co-coordinator together with Architect Riccardo Balbo. The work shop took place during a month and consisted in a theoretical part, in which it was developed the project’s theme of a school in Gaza Strip, following the indications of the functional program and the specific locations suggested by the local authorities, and starting from the concept of Urban Acupuncture as a system of revitalization of the region; and of a practical part which consisted on the realization of a prototype in which to test the constructive techniques implied on the designing: tires, earthbags, straw, bottles, etc… The prototype, named ARCOTIPO was realized on Michelotti park, in auto-construction by the master students with the suport of local professionals.
