DESCRIPTION

The workshop held by IED Torino inside the masters of sustainable architecture of which Arcò is co-coordinator together with the architect Riccardo Balbo. The workshop of the length of one month is divided in a theoretical part, where the design theme of a school inside the Gaza Strip is developed, taking in consideration multi-functional programs and high risk areas signaled by local authorities, starting from the concept of urban Agopuncture as a system to revive the region; and a practical one which aims to produce a prototype where the building techniques using raw materials such as: tires, earth bas, hail, bottles and so on are tested. The prototype with the name ARCOTIPO is realized inside the Michelotti Park in Torino, built by the students following the masters degree with the help of local skilled workers.
