SHORT DESCRIPTION

The "Island of Silence" at the Turin International Book Fair is an installation of about 40mq, built in wood with sound absorbing material. The objective is to perceive silence through the difference in status (noise) between interior and exterior. Through the vertical wraps it is possible a visual contact between in and out. Building a place to listen to silence is a gesture that has to do with isolation that leads to introspection. This conditions can be reached by a process whose spatial transposition is represented by a path. The bending wall is marked by a regular rhythm that leads us to discover the place where we can hear the silence.
